A delicious curry in The Coriander on Kennington lane. I plumped for the jhal puri, followed by the special lamb chops. My dining companion had the chicken cooked in a naga chilli sauce. Hot.
A chicken curry with half and half for my dining companion, a steak for me at the Ashburnham Hotel in Pembrey. Slightly disappointing this time, to be honest. And for the first hour and a half that we were there, they played Johnny Cash's version of Little Drummer Boy on a loop. When we pointed this out to them, they admitted it had probably been on all day and nobody else had noticed. So a bit of a weird evening. Still, at least the arrangement of the peas and fried tomato on my white plate looked a bit festive.
A night out with mum and dad at the Ashburnham hotel. Thai turkey curry and half & half, chicken curry and half & half, salmon with cockles and laverbread, and a very cheesy lasagne.
Scones and tea cakes at Verdi's Café in Mumbles. Turkey rogan josh with half and half at the Ashburnham, Pembrey. The following day, a picnic in the car on the seafront at Saundersfoot, then back to the Ashburnham in the evening for chicken tikka with half and half. And finally, the day after, back on the train from Swansea to Paddington with homemade chicken sandwiches.
A long while, in fact. Something to do with a startling BMI and seeing a documentary about fat toddlers on Channel 4. Let's celebrate our return with a chicken curry with half and half, from the Ashburnham Hotel, South Wales. Here's a little map. Get yourself down there.
